Marketplace

The Marketplace is where builders publish agents, with the skills they bundle, and where you install them into your own workspace. This page covers both sides: finding and installing, and enrolling, listing, review and payouts.

Updated October 2026Marketplace and connectors1 of 2

Short answer

Open Marketplace, pick a category or search, and read the listing. Choose Install: a free listing is yours at once, a paid one goes through Stripe Checkout. You get access to the publisher’s agent and a copy of every skill it bundles. To sell your own, choose Become a publisher, accept the agreement and submit a listing for review.

Browse listings

The Marketplace at /marketplace is public; you sign in to install. Category tabs along the top come from the catalog (Productivity, Development, Communication, Data, Browsing and Other when nothing else is configured), and the search box matches titles, descriptions and tags. Listings are ordered by subscribers, then by newest. The unfiltered view adds a featured band and editorial collections; a Subscribed badge marks what you already have.

Read a listing

A listing page shows the description, screenshots, the sample conversation and three things worth a closer look.

  • Reviews. Ratings from 1 to 5 with text, written by subscribers and people who have used the agent.
  • Trust panel. What the security review found: whether an Akili reviewer approved this version and when, whether the agent keeps to permitted capabilities, whether it reaches the internet and through which connectors, and the result of the secret scan and the sandbox scan.
  • Included skills. The skills bundled with the listing, each with its version, file count, a View SKILL.md dialog and scan and checksum pills. The section is absent when nothing is bundled.

Install an agent

Pricing models
ModelWhat happens
FreeInstall at once. No checkout.
SubscriptionMonthly or annual price in USD, paid through Stripe Checkout. Cancel at any time; access runs to the end of the paid period.
Per chatNo subscription. A credit surcharge is added to each chat with the agent.
  1. Step 1

    Choose Install

A free listing activates immediately. A subscription opens Stripe Checkout for the monthly or annual price; you return to the listing when payment completes.
  2. Step 2

    Receive the grant

Akili shares the publisher’s live agent with you with use permission. You are talking to the publisher’s agent, so updates the publisher ships reach you without reinstalling.
  3. Step 3

    Attach the installed skills

The Installed skills dialog lists the skills copied into your library, as snapshots of the reviewed versions, and offers Attach to an agent with a picker of your own agents. Find them later under the From marketplace filter in Skills.

Manage what you installed

An installed agent appears with your shared agents; its listing page shows Subscribed. To remove it, open the listing and choose Cancel subscription. A paid subscription ends at the close of the current period; a free install is revoked at once, together with the skill copies it brought.

Become a publisher

Enrolling needs the organization.marketplace:manage permission in your organization. The flow at /marketplace/enroll has four steps.

  1. Step 1

    Account

Confirm the organization that will publish.
  2. Step 2

    Profile

Pick a handle and write a bio; both appear on your listings.
  3. Step 3

    Payout

Connect Stripe now, do it later, or publish free listings only. Stripe Connect onboarding is required before a paid listing can earn, not before you can enroll.
  4. Step 4

    Review and accept

Read the Developer Agreement and accept the current version. Each version has a permanent page you can return to, and a new version must be re-accepted before you can submit again.

Create a listing

Choose New listing (/marketplace/new) and pick one of your agents. One agent can have one listing. The form asks for a title, description, category, tags, an icon, up to eight screenshots, a sample chat, and the pricing model with its monthly and annual prices or per-chat surcharge. Skills bundled with the listing are the skills attached to the agent; you do not pick them separately.

Readiness checklist

The editor keeps a checklist beside the form and only lets you submit when every item passes:

  • A title, a description, an icon and screenshots
  • A sample conversation that shows the agent at its best
  • A version with instructions and only permitted capabilities
  • No embedded secrets and no unsafe URLs in the agent or its skills

Versions and review

Every submission creates a new numbered version; you do not choose the number. Submitting runs, in order: a check that your account is not suspended, the agreement gate, the automated listing checks, a static scan of the agent and its skills, and the security scan. A High risk verdict blocks the submission on the spot; otherwise the version enters the review queue, where an Akili reviewer can approve it, reject it or request changes.

Listing statuses
StatusMeaning
draftOnly you can see it.
in_reviewA version is waiting for the automated checks or a reviewer.
publishedVisible in the Marketplace and installable.
unlistedReachable by link, hidden from browse and search.
rejectedThe reviewer declined the latest version; see the reason and appeal if you disagree.
suspendedTaken down by Akili; you cannot submit until it is resolved.

On your creator dashboard each version shows its security scan badge (Pending, Low risk, Needs review or High risk) and, when the Akili team has configured a review target, a countdown to it. A published version can be rolled back to the previous approved one.

Appeals

If a version is rejected or your developer account is suspended, open /marketplace/appeals. The page lists what you can appeal; a version with changes requested is not appealable, because the path forward is to make the changes and resubmit. An appeal is open until it is upheld, denied or withdrawn, or becomes moot because the situation changed. Each appeal carries a response target.

Account, team and payouts

/marketplace/account has four panels: Payouts (Stripe Connect onboarding, balance and payout history, and the only way back into your Stripe dashboard), Fee (the platform share applied to your sales under the agreement version you accepted), Agreement, and Creator preferences. Paid subscriptions settle through Stripe, which deducts the platform fee before the payout.

The team panel on the creator dashboard assigns colleagues one of the marketplace roles, which are regular organization roles:

Marketplace team roles
RoleCan
Marketplace ManagerManage the developer profile, listings and payouts.
Marketplace DeveloperBuild and publish listings, without payout or profile-identity access.
Marketplace FinanceRead-only revenue and listing analytics.
Marketplace ViewerRead-only dashboard for people who do not operate the account.
Marketplace TesterRun sandbox and review-submission workflows without publication or payout controls.

Good to know

  • The Marketplace is in beta. The page header says so, and the catalog is still small. Nothing about it is limited by plan tier.
  • Your fee follows the agreement you accepted. The percentage lives in the agreement text, and accepting a newer version changes it only from then on.
  • Suspension stops everything. While your account is suspended you cannot submit versions, and any new submission is refused until the suspension is lifted or an appeal is upheld.
  • Developer API keys are separate. Publishers can create akl_ keys to read subscribers, revenue and listings; see API overview.
  • The mobile app covers the creator side too. Browse, enroll, edit a listing, the creator account, appeals and the dashboard are all available on the phone.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly do I get when I install an agent?

A grant to use the publisher’s live agent, which appears among your shared agents, plus a copy of each skill bundled with the listing in your skills library under the From marketplace filter. The publisher keeps the agent; you keep the skill copies.

Can I leave a review before installing?

No. Reviews are open to people with an active subscription or who have used the agent, one review per person, with a rating from 1 to 5. Akili moderates reviews.

How long does a review take?

Automated checks run as soon as you submit. The human review target is set by the Akili team and shown as a countdown on your creator dashboard when one is configured; a submission that waits longer than three days is flagged as stale on the reviewer’s side.

Do I need Stripe to publish?

Only to earn. You can enroll with free listings only and connect Stripe later from Marketplace account settings; a paid listing cannot earn until the Stripe Connect onboarding is complete.

Can I list the same agent twice?

No. Each agent has at most one listing. Publish a new version of the listing when the agent changes.
