Privacy Policy
How Akili collects, uses, and protects your data.
Last updated: September 2026
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password (or OAuth identity token if you sign in with Google, GitHub, or Microsoft). We do not store plaintext passwords.
Usage data
We log the conversations you have with AI models, the agents you create, and the files you upload so we can deliver the service and let you access your history.
API keys
If you supply third-party API keys (BYOK), they are encrypted at rest using pgcrypto with a server-side passphrase. We never transmit your keys to any party other than the intended AI provider.
How we use your information
Service delivery
Your data is used solely to operate Akili: routing your messages to AI models, retrieving relevant context from your knowledge base, and returning responses.
No model training
We do not use your conversations, documents, or personal data to train or fine-tune any AI model — including our own or any third-party model.
Analytics
Aggregate, anonymized usage metrics (e.g. feature adoption rates) may be collected to improve the platform. These metrics cannot be linked back to individual users.
Data sharing
AI providers
Your messages are forwarded to the AI provider you select (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) to generate responses. Each provider's own privacy policy governs that data.
No sale of data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Ntegral Inc., our users, or the public.
Data security
Encryption
All data is transmitted over TLS. Sensitive fields (API keys, credentials) are encrypted at rest using pgcrypto. Database backups are encrypted.
Access controls
Access to production infrastructure is restricted to authorized engineers with MFA enforced. All access is logged and audited.
Self-hosted deployments
If you self-host Akili, your data never leaves your infrastructure. You are responsible for securing your own deployment environment.
SMS Messaging and Mobile Information
Akili Security Messaging Program
If you choose to receive SMS messages from Akili, we collect your mobile phone number and information documenting your consent to receive messages, including the consent language presented to you, its version, date and time of consent, and associated technical information such as IP address and browser information.
How We Use Mobile Information
Akili uses your mobile phone number to provide transactional and security-related messages that you request or authorize, including phone-number verification, one-time passcodes, multi-factor authentication, sign-in verification, password resets, and account-security notifications.
The Akili Security Messaging Program does not send marketing or promotional text messages.
Mobile Information and Messaging Consent Are Not Shared for Marketing
We do not sell, rent, share, transfer, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
The data-sharing categories described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent. Mobile information and messaging consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
We may disclose mobile information to service providers acting on our behalf solely as necessary to provide, deliver, operate, or support the SMS messaging service. These service providers are not permitted to use mobile information or messaging consent for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Message Frequency and Rates
Message frequency varies based on user-initiated account and security activity, including verification, sign-in, multi-factor authentication, and password-reset requests.
Message and data rates may apply.
Opting Out
You may reply STOP to any Akili SMS message to stop receiving text messages. You may also remove your mobile number through your Akili account settings where available.
After opting out, you will receive no further SMS messages unless you subsequently opt in again. Opting out of SMS may prevent certain phone-based authentication or account-security features from functioning until you re-enroll.
